Support, Advice and Training
Where you can get support:
Your Local Infrastructure Organisation (LIOs) is well positioned to make sure that the voices of Third Sector organisations and the people that use services are heard. LIOs can also play an important brokering role, working both with commissioners and third sector organisations.
Your local Funding Adviser, based at your local LIO, can provide you with support and advice to help your organisation get ready to tender for contracts.
Training:
The Funding Advice Network, in partnership with York CVS and the City of York Council, is currently developing a series of courses to train members of staff and volunteers from local voluntary and community organisaton about commissiong and procurement issues:
• Writing a Business Plan
• Getting ready to tender for contracts
• Preparing to Tender
This will complement the current Funding Training Programme courses.
This website will be updated to provide more information in the Autumn, with details of course content, and where and how you can access these courses.
NAVCA
NAVCA's Local Commissioning and Procurement Unit (LCPU) was set up in 2008 as a direct result of requests from NAVCA members who needed help and support with the commissioning agenda. They provide practical information, advice and guidance to local infrastructure organisations. Their website provides a number of resources which are regularly updated.
